Avoid the Waste

There used to be a saying that our mothers would exclaim when we left food on our plates at dinner time in order to tell us we were being wasteful. "You better eat everything on your plate. There are starving people in China!" Of course, I didn't worry too much about people I would never be able to dig a hole to go see; however, I was moved by the saying, "If you don't finish what is on your plate, you will not get any desert." Nonetheless, we were always taught how to avoid the waste.

Our fathers were in lockstep with their "Waste Cop Partner", as he could tell if you left the door open too long as you were going outside to play, or if you didn't turn off the water when you brushed your teeth. Water and electricity were a golden currency for most of us growing up, and even to this day, the budgeting of these commodities has been passed down to our own children.

Sometimes the "Waste Czars" would turn on each other as time became an issue. Allotted bathroom time was usually the number one topic in most American households, while pops having to wait on the women in the house no matter the destination. Countless minutes that would turn into wasted hours were spent waiting to go to church, school, dinner parties or just run a quick errand. Of course, the game on the radio would pacify dad while he waited even though nothing was ever mentioned about the gas consumed sitting in the driveway!

Our government continues this trend of wastefulness. Asinine spends our tax dollars have gone to things (Remember, this is your tax dollars the American government takes while you have to budget because of the ridiculous inflation going on right now) like $45 million for a diversity and inclusion scholarship in Burma (do you even know where Burma is?). Another $3 million is thrown away for "girl-centered climate action" in Brazil which was spurred by a grant given to an organization based in the Netherlands. The CDC continued their corruption taking $125 million to racialize public health (because apparently colds only go after a person of a certain skin color), and our current administration spent a half-a-million dollars paying a Muslim group to censor contrary opinions against Israel. Safe Online Gaming had to stop researching all of the ways to avoid the waste before our editors heads exploded with the irresponsible behavior of the government.
