Memorial Day military gambles
Biggest Gambles by the US Military

The United States is the greatest country in the world, and our country would not be what it is today without some highly risky military strategies that have resulted in victories for USA! Ultimately, these military gambles by the US Military have propelled the US into the world's Super Power, providing a vast amount of opportunities for all of us to enjoy.

Starting with the American Revolutionary War, General George Washington offered an additional $10 to each soldier who would reenlists. Remember, unlike the British Crown who implemented a lifetime of servitude without many choices; this was a risky move that ultimately helped to stabilize the young country's army and secure crucial victories to defeat the British Empire.

Less than 100 years later, the United States was divided between the Union and Confederates. The Battle of Gettysburg, a three-day battle in July 1863 was a turning point in the Civil War. Confederate forces, under General Robert E. Lee, launched a major offensive into Pennsylvania, but were ultimately repelled by the Union Army under General George Meade. The battle resulted in a decisive Union victory, marking a major blow to the Confederate cause. Although it has taken many years for our country to reunite, the United States stands for freedom for all, and has shown that a country united can do great things in the world.

World War II provided many examples of the biggest gambles by the US Military, but none standout more than D-Day on June 6, 1944. This massive amphibious assault involved landing Allied forces on the beaches of Normandy, France. The success of the landing was crucial for liberating Western Europe from Nazi control, but the operation was extremely risky, with the potential for heavy casualties and failure.

Our US Military has endured wars and conflicts. American Revolutionary War (1775), War of 1812, Mexican-American War (1846) Spanish-American War (1898), World War I (1914), World War II (1939), Korean War (1950), Vietnam War (1955), Gulf War (1990), Iraq War (2003) and other conflicts have put our service members on the front line to protect our freedom. Each of these events have shaped our country and the lives of our service members paid the price for each of us this weekend.

Whether you are celebrating Memorial Day Weekend by the pool, at a Bar-B-Q or enjoying online casinos like Sugar Shack, Caliente Casino or Sweepstakes Online, take a moment and remember those who have allowed us to have the freedoms to hit the JACKPOT!
